About The Role
We are seeking a highly competent Senior Extrusion Systems Engineer with proven experience in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting single screw, twin screw, injection, recycling, rubber, and cable extrusion systems.
This role requires advanced technical judgment, independent problem-solving capability, and the ability to improve existing screw geometries and barrel configurations based on real-world processing behavior. You will lead design evaluations, support OEM-compatible reverse engineering, and mentor junior engineers in advanced extrusion principles.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize screw geometries for twin conical, twin parallel, and single extrusion systems Develop injection plastification units for stable melt homogeneity and shot control Analyze torque distribution, compression ratios, and thermal zoning efficiency Perform engineering calculations including shear rate, melt pressure, residence time, and wear evaluation Create detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation Review OEM specifications and execute reverse-engineering projects Support production teams with metallurgy selection and surface hardening strategies Participate in system performance audits and root cause analysis Lead coordination between engineering, quality control, and manufacturing Ensure QA/QC compliance with dimensional and metallurgical standards Mentor junior engineers and refine internal design standards
About You
You are a technically driven engineer with deep knowledge of plastification systems and extrusion mechanics. You combine theoretical understanding with hands-on problem-solving ability and are confident leading complex system evaluations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
Screw and barrel geometry development
L/D ratio optimization and compression profile design
Torque management and load distribution
Advanced metallurgy and surface hardening techniques
Proficiency in:
AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Engineering simulation tools
Advanced Excel for performance modeling
Desired:
Experience with high-filled or abrasive polymer processing
OEM compatibility and reverse engineering experience
Knowledge of nitriding, bimetallic liners, and specialty alloys
Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related field
Experience: 7–10 years in extrusion, injection, or screw/barrel system engineering
Experience with OEM platforms and performance optimization required
